Matthew 5:17
"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill."
Many years ago, I was in Washington DC on a business trip. During my spare time, I walked the many historic areas such as the Washington Monument, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. At the end of the day, my walking and climbing of stairs left me sore and I was looking for a hot tub to soak in. The one at my hotel was not working and the night clerk suggested I look in the phone book for a spa. So I returned to my room and opened up the DC phone book and not finding a listing for spa hot tubs, I was referred from there to the massage section. I was shocked by what I found. There were at least 30 pages devoted to massage, and it was not the therapeutic kind either. It advertised, behind nuanced words, prostitution, gay sex, and other perversions. When I talked my wife on the phone that night, I explained to her what I had found. It was through this incident that I came to realize what Washington DC really was behind all the illusions - a cesspool of sin.
Now bring that to our current era. That cesspool is now open for the world to see.
Just recently there was a discovery of two men (one being a Senate staffer) having anal sex in one of the main Senate hearing rooms. This was recorded on video and was being circulated on a website chatroom geared to gay government employees. When discovered, the young male staffer was fired. Later he protested that he was being persecuted because of who he loved (the other man) and that he would never disrespect his workplace. I don't know what you think, but my opinion is this was totally disrespectful. Regardless, he is playing the victim card and not taking responsibility for his actions as it is our fault because of our beliefs.
Add this to the cross dressing official stealing luggage at various airports and so many men dressing and professing to be female in certain high government positions, it is clearly evident that Washington DC is "the swamp" and is a stinking cesspool.
The bible has a lot to say about this. Sin has been with us since the beginning. You can ignore it, pretend it doesn't exist, but you are in denial of the consequences. Reading the book of Romans is a good place to start. The apostle Paul states it eloquently in Romans 1: 24-32.
God is not mocked. Judgement will come. Prepare your hearts and minds. Pray for the sinners that they may repent and come to Christ.
