Should You Prepare?

Proverbs 22:3 NLT

"A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes
blindly on and suffers the consequences."

That is the most common question I get – should I prepare for the end times?
There are two camps, more or less, when it comes to what the Bible promises as
the return of Jesus. Both are in the time known as the Great Tribulation. The first
postulates that Jesus will return prior to the start of the Great Tribulation and will
remove believers from the wrath of God to come. The second postulates that
believers will go through the Great Tribulation and suffer during that time.
According to that position, Jesus will return at the end of this period and establish
His kingdom.

We could spend years arguing these two views. Proponents of each are well
entrenched in their belief and getting someone to change their view is like pulling
teeth without Novocain. I’m not going to waste anyone’s time in this discussion,
except to say I think it’s very prudent that you prepare for troubling times. My
reasons are simple, as you will read.

"If there was going to be a pre-Tribulation rapture, Jesus would have told us about
it.  It would have been at the beginning of Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21
instead of at the end of each of those chapters.  Jesus was very clear that the
rapture happens “after the tribulation of those days”, and... this lines up perfectly
with what the rest of the Bible says…"
Michael Snyder - The Rapture Verdict (pp. 61).

The Bible is very clear about preparation. Noah was warned about the
approaching flood, and he took action and built the ark. The world around him
scoffed at this and ridiculed him for this. Then the rains came and everyone,
except Noah and his family drowned.

God troubled Pharoah with a dream that Joseph interpreted. The interpretation of
the dream forecast seven good years of harvest, to be followed by seven years of
drought. As a result, Pharoah commanded Joseph to have Egypt prepare for the
famine, and was spared in the seven years of drought.
